The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial/financial and contractual elements of the project(s) in order to control and maximise the company’s profitability, protect the company’s legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues. This is to include managing other commercial and operational resources, ensuring applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms and also ensuring sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with company contractual obligations and commitments to Subcontractors. In addition, ensuring cost reports and the like are real time, managed, completed on time and monitored. To understand, adhere and implement the commercial systems and procedures, as well as the companies SHEQ policies/strategy.
Duties& Responsibilities
· Compliance and achievement of project,procedures, personal targets and initiatives.
· Promote a sense of Teamwork with yourOperational equivalent.
· Consistently promote the company valuesand procedures.
· Maintain key relationships with supplychain, consultants and clients.
· Ensure the project team achieve orexceed budgeted targets.
· Identify potential disputes in a timelymanner.
· Place high quality subcontract ordersin accordance with the procurement schedule.
· Ensure subcontract orders accuratelyreflect the main contract requirements and scope of works.
· Accurately value, certify and issue anyrelevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with theconditions of their subcontract.
· Ensure that external valuations aresubmitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that paymentsare received by the due date, taking full responsibility for the project’s cashposition.
· Complete CVR/Forecast reports, ensuringthey accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profitprojection.
· Achieve timely and equitable resolutionof client and supply chain final accounts.
· Provide early warning of futurefinancial problems and ensure accurate real time reporting.
· Manage and minimise non recoverablecosts on projects.
· Manage, train and develop juniorsurveying staff.
· Price and effectively agree projectvariations.
· Creatively consider value engineeringand improved buildability solutions.
· Correctly identify and preparecontractual notices for all events and administering the main contractconditions accordingly.
· Accurately promote strong teamwork betweenall disciplines.
